A player receives a pass with a defender on their shoulder. Must control, turn away from pressure, and play out. Drills the half-turn that unlocks pressing teams.
• Check shoulder BEFORE the ball arrives — know where the defender is
• First touch with the back foot — opens the body away from pressure
• Use the body as a shield — get between defender and ball
• Turn quickly but balanced — no spinning blindly
• Play out under control — composed, not hurried
Progression: defender starts closer, applies real pressure. Add a second defender for double-cover.
Regression: defender is passive, walks only. Larger receiving zone.
